If this is the case, please decommission your machine(s) to prevent any build-up of bacteria or unwelcome odours.

How To Temporarily Decommission Your Coffee Machine

Before powering off your machine, please carry out the following:


For Fresh Milk Coffee Machines

  • Open fridge, empty any milk from within container, replace container.
  • Do routine milk clean/milk flush as per usual daily maintenance
  • Do routine daily espresso and instant whipper bowl clean
  • Remove milk container, empty residues & wash with warm water and washing up liquid.
  • Using anti-bacterial spray and damp cloth, clean thoroughly inside the fridge compartment
  • Place the dried container back in fridge.
  • Leave fridge door OPEN
  • Open coffee machine, lock coffee bean hopper slider, remove bean hopper & empty beans
  • Shut off, remove & empty dry ingredient canisters – ensure all the product is removed.
  • Replace canisters
  • Remove manual fill water tank (if not a mains fed machine) & empty any water. Refit tank.
  • Switch off machine & fridge.
  • Isolate water supply (if machine is mains fed)
  • Remove and empty the drip tray and coffee grounds bin, then wash using warm water and washing up liquid
  • Refit the drip tray and coffee grounds bin

Note: When the machine is recommissioned, you must run a full cleaning cycle prior to consuming any drinks from it.


For Powdered/Soluble milk or Instant coffee Machines

  • Do routine daily espresso & whipper bowl(s) clean
  • Open machine, lock coffee bean hopper slider, remove bean hopper & empty any beans
  • Shut off, remove & empty dry ingredient canisters – ensure all the product is removed.
  • Replace canisters
  • Remove manual fill water tank (if not a mains fed machine) & empty any water. Refit tank.
  • Switch off machine.
  • Isolate water supply (if machine is mains fed)
  • Remove and empty the drip tray and coffee grounds bin, then wash using warm water and washing up liquid
  • Refit the drip tray and coffee grounds bin
